Outfit 6/8 Stripes and Fire Shoes

Can you tell from the first photo these pants are getting a bit too big on me? Most would say that's a good thing, but really... when you don't have the money to go blow on jeans,
going through them so quickly is a little of a pain! haha.
Jeans are Amethyst brand from Debs. $7. Cheap, but you can tell. I can only wear these with shirts long enough to cover the front zipper, which falls down often. ;-)

Shirt is GirlTalk, which I picked up at Buffalo Exchange while in Dallas.

Shoes:  Steve Madden
Bracelets: cheap kids beads (I have some stocked in every color for stacking)
Orange vintage bangle: thrifted
Ring: Craft fair. I wish I still had the business card, they sell on Etsy. (you can find something similar here)
Necklace: Thrifted.

Last Thursday was my day off work to go pick my mom up to hang out. We went downtown thrifting, out to eat, and a few other fun places. This necklace was only $12! Completely perfect condition.
I absolutely HAD to have it. The beads are glass, the pendant is metal, and it's heavy.

Just now I went looking to find out how old this is. I know its vintage, but wasn't sure how old. Turns out that this $12 find is worth somewhere between $80-$120. bahaha. I scored!
KJL for Avon.
You can find a similar one for sale here.

Add a little Whiskey to your Life

(found via pinterest with no link. aweee.)

Cherry Apple Whiskey Sour Popsicles

3 cups cherries
1 large green apple
1 lime
1 cup whiskey
1/2 cup sweet and sour mix

Pit cherries, set aside. Peel away apple and lime skin and cut fruit into quarters. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until it is pureed. Mixture will be thick. Pour mixture into popsicle forms and freeze for about 2 hours or until mixture starts to solidify enough to hold a popsicle stick upright. Insert popsicle sticks and finish freezing popsicles overnight. To release popsicles, run hot water on outside of the mold for about 2-3 seconds.

Cleaning the Closet - Part 3 Bags and Belts

I made the decision to try to simplify my closet a bit.
Getting rid of anything that is too worn out, no longer fits, or that I haven't worn in over a year.
My first post didn't go so well.
I only ended up getting rid of 7 pairs of shoes. Out of... well... um...

This time I went for all my belts, anything that ties, and purses.

I can't figure out if I did better, or worse on these ones.
That is everything.

This is what I ended up keeping. Honestly, ALL my scarves, because I do wear them.
Whether its in the winter, or as belts, they get worn.

What I decided to part with...

Don't just, that's 6 pieces!!!
And it ended up being seven. I took a belt off my jeans last night and it broke.
Maybe that one was a little past due? hehe.

The 'keep' pile of purses. I also have a bright purple Kathy purse not pictured, as well as a long pink fossil, and a short black xoxo bag. These are currently in use so they got left out.

The two I'm getting rid of. Lets face it, that green is NOT a very nice color, but matter how fun it is.
And that tiny pink and black one is, tiny. And stiff. Just not worth it.

Eh, maybe skirts and dresses will do better. I think that is next on my list. I have a feeling most of them that will be leaving will be because they no longer fit. The joy/agony of losing weight. ;-)

How long do you hold onto items before giving them the boot?
Do you horde things in your closet or do you like less clutter?
